Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President, People & Culture leads the organization’s programs and strategies related to employees and culture in support of building a high-performance culture that helps drive the business. The VP, People & Culture will be an essential member of a small executive team and play a key role ensuring all HR functions align with and add value to the organization’s strategic goals. The role leads all internal communications and supports executive with corporate messaging (including media relations), engagement, talent development, recruitment as well as employee and labour relations. The Vice President, People & Culture will engage with leadership teams, and other stakeholders, to ensure that BCPC’s strategic plan and future growth as a best managed company and employer of choice is fully supported.
The ideal candidate is a progressive organizational leader with expertise in human resource management, change management, and organizational behaviour and development. Armed with a background as a senior HR leader, the preferred person brings experience in a unionized, service-oriented organization where they have been a champion of progressive change. Experience that includes shaping organizational culture to align with business strategy is required, as is deep knowledge of employment and labour law. As a member of the executive team, the ideal candidate will be an enterprise thinker, able to understand the impacts of decisions across the corporation. As a trusted advisor to the CEO, the preferred person must be results-oriented, business driven, and accountable.
