Reporting to and working collaboratively with the Board of Governors, the President is committed to Algonquin’s vision of being a global leader in personalized, digitally connected and experiential learning. Charged with delivering and enhancing the College’s Strategic Plan 2017-22, the President embodies the College values of Caring, Learning, Integrity and Respect, while providing executive leadership to the College’s faculty, and administrative and support staff to ensure that both the students and the College are successful. The new President will be committed to Truth, Reconciliation and Indigenization throughout the institution.
As a well-qualified candidate, you have several attributes that will be critical or highly desirable in this position, including: Senior executive experience, a passion for student success and education, the ability to create an inspiring yet realistic vision, a strategic approach, excellent communications skills, the ability to lead a highly capable executive team, experience building enrolment locally, nationally and internationally, knowledge of how to secure funding from many sources, and a track record of having managed a complex entity successfully. You understand the uniqueness of working with a unionized workforce. You can make difficult decisions when necessary to ensure the College is fiscally well-managed. Your open, transparent, and collaborative approach will serve you well in working with students, faculty, staff, executives, alumni, donors, government officials, employers, community stakeholders and the Board of Governors to achieve mutual goals.
