CILT is a community-based resource organization dedicated to the achievement of social and economic equity for people with disabilities. Run by people with disabilities for people with disabilities, they are a pioneer and leader within the Independent Living moment. A registered charity, with funding from the United Way, Provincial and Federal governments, donations, earned income, and membership support, CILT delivers programs and activities related to attendant service, independent living, educational and related support services.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will have a unique opportunity to lead a strong, well-respected and trusted organization into the future. The Executive Director will be responsible and accountable for providing the vision, strategic leadership, partnership building, financial and operational stewardship, and execution required for CILT to deliver against its mandate.

As the ideal candidate you are well-versed in the philosophy and practices of the Independent Living movement. You are a champion of the rights and achievements of disabled people and understand the importance of a disability justice approach. You have a track record of successful strategic leadership, financial management, stakeholder relations, and public policy engagement. You are a compassionate and highly-regarded people leader who champions and supports organizational effectiveness and operational excellence.
