Ontario Power Generation (OPG) produces about half of the electricity Ontarians rely on each day. Its operations touch all corners of the Province and many places in between. OPG powers Ontario – 24 hours a day, seven days a week – and does so with a clean, efficient and reliable generating fleet, all at a significantly lower price than the average of all other generators. 

OPG’s mission is to be Ontario’s low-cost electricity generator through a focus on four corporate strategies: Operational Excellence, Project Excellence, Social License and Financial Sustainability.  Its highly skilled employees are dedicated to ensuring the residents of Ontario, both now and in the future, have a reliable supply of clean electricity.

The company is currently executing our largest ongoing project, the Darlington Refurbishment, which will extend the life of Darlington Nuclear Generating Station (GS) by another 30 years. Another priority focus is the ongoing safe operation of Pickering Nuclear GS to the end of 2024, followed by safe storage activities. This year, OPG will complete work on a new 40 MW solar facility on the site of the former Nanticoke coal plant, and on a new 10 MW single-unit powerhouse at Ranney Falls GS. All of these initiatives will help secure many more years of low-cost, clean and reliable electricity for Ontario, and help position OPG for continued strength and growth in the coming years.

To help deliver on these and other exciting initiatives, OPG is seeking an exceptionally talented Chief Financial Officer & Senior Vice President, Finance to provide strategic and operational leadership to the Executive team and the Board as the company makes a fundamental transition toward a new and exciting future as a clean, efficient, flexible and financially sustainable organization.

As a well-qualified candidate for this position, you have senior executive experience gained in a large company. You have led an executive team responsible for major, multi-year capital expenditures. You have worked with an independent Board, have successfully implemented business transformation initiatives, and have evolved an innovative commercial culture while emphasizing financial discipline.  The successful candidate will also possess strong experience with mergers and acquisitions. Your reputation for applying sound judgment across a broad spectrum of business matters is well established, as is your ability to communicate in a straightforward, highly effective manner.  You can develop and nurture long term relationships with diverse groups.  You understand the needs of government.
