John McFerran

John McFerran is the Managing Director of the Winnipeg, Manitoba office.

Prior to joining Boyden, John founded and was President of his own consulting firm People First which grew rapidly to become one of the largest consulting firms in the province of Manitoba. He has extensive C-Level experience in both the public and private sectors.

John has over 20 years of senior level recruiting experience and he has held various leadership positions including the Vice President of Human Resources at The North West Company and a Partner with Deloitte Consulting in Winnipeg. 

John sits on the boards of the Manitoba Museum (Past President), Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, Manitoba Chamber of Commerce Awards Committee, and the Riverview Healthcare Center Nominating Committee. He is also a member of the Institute for Corporate Directors (ICD) and the University of Manitoba Associates.

A proud Winnipegger, John is a regular contributor to the Winnipeg Free Press newspaper. His “View From the Top” column features Q & A’s with prominent Winnipeg CEOs. 

While Winnipeg is home, John has also lived in both Calgary and Toronto for periods of his working life. He and his wife have one son who resides in the United States.
